How Traveling Inspires Us to Create Better Work
We all get the travel bug. It's an un-official, real-life condition that most millennials succumb to when trying to figure out their real purpose in life.
Whenever I get the travel bug - it always leads me to believe one thing - I need more inspiration in my life. I find it funny, yet ironic that every time I come home from a week long vacation, I always feel refreshed, recharged, and ready to tackle any task at work or at home with full force.
The idea of being free from stress, un-plugging from the world, giving yourself time to enjoy the views and the culture in front of you when you are embarking on a new location you've never been too is something that each and every one of us should learn from - even if it's only for 10 days.
Inspiration is all around us, we don't have to look far to find it - however it's easier than you may think to become uninspired while living your life in the same daily routines. This is why I believe that traveling the world and taking time for yourself is so important.
With each new place I travel to - I immerse myself in the culture, eat foods I would never try at home, experience life as a local, and simply live in the moment with each inhale and exhale. Embracing the sunsets in the tropical jungles of maui, or riding mo-peds through the cliffs on the coast of Positano Italy, are a few of the many adventures I like to take while traveling that helps clear my mind yet keeps me inspired and motivated to try new things every single day.
Traveling and so-called "taking a vacation" doesn't have to be that one thing that eases your pain from real world stress. It should be a time for you to unplug and reset, and know that when you come home from experiencing something new - you will feel recharged, more inspired and ready to tackle your goals.
